Attain enlightenment

Meaning:

"Oh Wise One, wise one, great wise one of the Shakyan, Hail!"

Mantra of Buddha Shakyamuni. The Buddhists believe that the mantra carries the enlightenment essence of the Buddha, and is not separate from the Buddha himself. Mantras are said to carry this enlightenment in the seed syllables themselves. They are energetic. (Direct translations get in the way. Mantra is the pure form of enlightened speech.

Om - All Knowledge of the three bodies of the Buddha - Body, Speech and Mind
Muni - Control over the suffering of the three lower realms and over the wrong conception of the self-existent I.
Muni - Control over the suffering of all the samsara and self cherishing thoughts.
Maha Muni - Great control over the suffering of subtle illusions and over the dualistic mind.
Soha/Svaha - May my mind receive, absorb, and keep the blessings of the mantra, and may they take root in this Self.
